Sea moss, which encompasses Genus Gracilaria and Eucheuma Cottoni, grows in tropical regions such as St. Lucia and Jamaica.Sea moss is a sea vegetable and is rich in minerals that are essential for the human body. It contains 92 of the 102 minerals that the human body is comprised of, including zinc, sodium, potassium, iodine, calcium, sulfur, magnesium, and phosphorus. These minerals are crucial for the proper functioning of the human body. Sea moss has been a part of the human diet for many years, particularly in regions like the Caribbean and Ireland. It was even used as a food source during the Irish Potato Famine in the 1800s.Sea moss comes in three forms: raw, powder, and gel. Regardless of its form, sea moss is generally tasteless. However, the gel form is the preferred method of consumption.Sea moss has various benefits, promoting overall health and well-being. It acts as a natural decongestant and cough suppressant, supports the immune system, aids in cold and flu relief, promotes gut health, healing, increased energy and metabolism, libido enhancement, skin, hair, and nail health/growth, thyroid regulation, heart health, and reduces pain and inflammation.
